Artist Statement

My artistic practice explores memory, grief, and migration through weaving, understanding the body as a territory where histories, displacements, and inherited knowledge converge. Through my connection to a familial lineage of weavers, I investigate how memory persists, transforms, and materializes through materials and gestures. For me, weaving is an act of thought and evocation: each knot is a sign and each stitch a story. I work with recycled rope and sublimated photography on fiber, exploring the capacity of materials to transform, oxidize, and absorb the passage of time. In this interaction, matter acts like memory itself: it changes, breathes, and endures. My works emerge from a meticulous, hand-driven process in which gesture becomes language and material becomes archive. Through immersive installations that integrate poetry, sound, Braille, sign language, video, and fiber, I seek to activate the memory of the body and create spaces of experience, perception, and connection.
